Story & Restoration Notes
Bertha was found on Facebook Marketplace in Carrollton, TX, about five years ago. She was a beast even then—big, tall, and bold—but she came with a mysterious ticking sound and a few stubborn gremlins under the hood. The transmission was pulled apart before we discovered a worn thrust bearing. We ended up rebuilding the bottom end of the engine and reworking the cooling system with a new radiator and electric fans. Throw in new shocks, working wipers, and a cold-blowing Vintage Air system, and Bertha was ready to roar again.
She’s got a few scars, but that rugged patina is part of her charm. No chrome polish or showroom gloss—Bertha’s meant to work and turn heads while doing it. She’s as comfortable in a barn wedding photo as she is pulling a trailer or hauling a truckload of mulch.
