More than 30 years ago, Wilson brought home a ’67 Camaro. It ran well enough, but over time it became the family project.
There are old photos of a young Wyatt holding tools in the garage, learning side by side with his dad. Cindy pitched in too — sometimes working the jack, sometimes just making sure the project kept moving.
That Camaro became more than a car. It was a constant through moves, tight budgets, and big life changes. It was a reminder that some things are worth keeping on the road.
From Hobby to Craft
As Wyatt grew up, weekends in the garage turned into a career. He cut his teeth at Discount Tire, earned a welding certificate, and spent three years at Robinson Restoration, a shop dedicated entirely to classics.
Day after day, he worked alongside old-school craftsmen and came to understand the difference between doing things the “cheap way” and doing them the right way. By the time he left, Wyatt’s skills had surpassed his dad’s — a proud passing of the torch that deepened the family’s shared love for these cars.
Why We Started SpeedNut Garage
Classic cars weren’t built to sit under covers or collect dust at car shows. They were built to be driven, shared, and loved.
Too many of them spend their lives locked away, guarded by owners who won’t let anyone breathe on them. We saw an opportunity to change that.
